Fruit illustration

Create realistic-looking fruit using Adobe Illustrator....
The mesh gradient tool was difficult to get the hang of but very rewardind after some growing pains. The most fun was the apple. I got the results from MOVING the mesh point anchors after the color had been applied.

Typography

Create an image using typeface....
The original idea was to warp the text to make a trumpet out of the word JAZZ. I would have liked to spend more time on it and even ad some color. Over all I am happy with the variety the warp feature contains.

Fancy Numbers

Create a symbol then using the scatter brush, create a new series of numbers... like creating your own font!  I made the shape of a with at first (and it came out pretty good I must say) but it lost all its detail when I turned it into a small symbol. So, I decided to go with something much simpler.. like a tennis ball. I used the symbol to make numbers such as you might see on a tennis scoreboard. I was hoping I could straighten the lines made by the brush, and I did add and delete some anchors, but could not get them as straight as I wanted them.

Create a landscape using Illustrator.....

I created a sky and a foreground using two rectangle to cover the page and used a gradient fill. I added mountains and a stream using the pen tool and filled them with different colors to try to get some dimension going. Not sure how successful I was at that. I then added nature symbols using the symbol sprayer and added my happy horse so he could get something to eat! I should have added more horses so he had some company.

Draw and animal using Illustrator...

I sketched a horse, scanned it and "placed" it in a blank Illustrator page. I drew the shapes with the pen tool, (adding and subtracting anchor points to get round curves) then used different color browns to make it look kind of like a horse. Challenging assignment but the possibilities are endless!

Create numbers using the pen tool.....

This was a lot more fun than I expected!
